The poems you will read come from the manuscript of my first poetry book, which I hope to continue developing during my residency.

They explore the rage that emerges when decentering the male gaze from the self—a need for admissions of wrongdoings and retributions that never come. This book delves into ingrained desire, the murky lines between what is innate and what is taught, and the tangible violence that stems from it.

This unaddressed rage is then given a task: to expose the grimiest, ugliest parts of these desires and the conflicts they provoke.
