Miguel E. Keerveld (Suriname, 1982) is a multi-interdisciplinary artist, currently living in Brazil. They work as curator and artist at Readytex Art Gallery in Suriname, with focus on contemporary art, artistic research, writing, and intuitive coaching. While questioning race and gender with a critical perspective, Miguel frequently pushes boundaries to confront generalized ideas about the processes of identification and engages in creative producing that challenges colonization and representation. They also use theory to inform writing process and social practice to strengthen relations within communities, challenge problems of power and local knowledge. Miguel has a background in Civil Engineering and Business Process Auditing and is involved in leadership, quality management control, artistic processes and residencies in Brazil and Mexico, amongst others.
